Maui police recovered drugs and counterfeit money during a search on Tuesday of a Nāpili home where suspected drug activity was reported. Three individuals were also arrested and released pending further investigation.
Members of the Maui Police Department’s Vice Division Narcotics Unit executed the search warrant on James McDonald, 58, at his home in Nāpili. Police say officers had received multiple complainants of heavy foot and vehicle traffic in the late evening hours and suspected drug activity at this residence.
As a result of the search, police recovered the following: crystal methamphetamine; imitation crystal methamphetamine; paraphernalia associated with the use, sale and distribution of narcotics; $500 in US currency; counterfeit $100 bills; an electric stun gun; a BB gun; and ammunition.
McDonald was located at the home along with Sitenili Kafoa, 46, and Crystal Blumke, 39. All were placed under arrest for: second and third degree promotion of a dangerous drug; deadly weapons prohibitions; first degree forgery; and prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia.
Police say all three were later released pending further investigation.
